NEWS

2026.9.16  Website Launch new!

Date & Time: Thursday, October 8, 2026 9:00–21:00
Venue: Ohsumi Hall, Okazaki Conference Center
Registration Fee: Free
Overview:
In materials containing heavy elements, relativistic effects significantly influence electronic structures, chemical bonding, reactivity, and physical properties. In recent years, research on relativistic effects has expanded across a wide range of fields, including molecular science, materials science, energy science, and catalysis science. Therefore, this workshop will discuss the latest research outcomes in relativistic quantum chemistry, heavy-element chemistry, atomic and molecular physics, and superheavy element science, while exploring the current status and future outlook of heavy-element science. For our plenary lectures, we are honored to welcome Prof. Hiromitsu Haba from the team that discovered nihonium; Prof. Angela K. Wilson, a board member of the American Physical Society and former President of the American Chemical Society; and Prof. Trond Saue, a leader in frontier research on quantum electrodynamics (QED). Additionally, the program features presentations by distinguished researchers and early-career scientists active in this field.
Registration: Please apply via the Registration Form.
