The symposium was a great success, attended by a large number of participants. A total of 98 participants registered, including 14 from overseas. There were 52 posters presented, which sparked lively discussions. The student awards (Outstanding Poster Award) were won by Reika Hasegawa from Tokyo University of Science and Kazuki Kamata from Osaka Metropolitan University.

Purpose
This joint conference is organized collaboratively by three groups (the SPring-8 User Community, the Micro and Nano Materials Science Research Group, the Japan Surface Science Society's Synchrotron Radiation Surface Science Research Division, and the Probe Microscopy Research Division) with the aim of discussing cutting-edge material and material analyses to pave the way for a novel interdisciplinary domain. From electronic and structural physical properties to catalysis and surface chemistry, and biophysics, a wide range of topics will be covered. By fostering interactions among researchers and students who specialize in synchrotron radiation research and probe microscopy research that the three groups excel in, this conference aims to provide an opportunity to set new research directions.

Oral Presentations & Poster Sessions
We are broadly soliciting general presentations and poster sessions regardless of the field. Not only from those involved in measurements but also submissions from individuals in the fields of materials and material science are welcome. We anticipate that the fusion of fields where advanced measurement applications have not yet progressed will become the seeds for new interdisciplinary domains.
Please note that the slots for general presentations are limited. Therefore, there is a possibility that we may ask you to present in the form of a poster instead of a spoken presentation. We appreciate your understanding.
Both for general presentations and poster sessions, we will be offering awards for outstanding presentations to young researchers and students. We encourage you to apply.
Oral Presentations Deadline:January 19, 2024
Poster Sessions Deadline:February 9, 2024
